Inter coach Antonio Conte was interviewed by the Carabinieri at Inter’s headquarters in Via della Liberazione yesterday in order to progress the investigation into the threatening letter sent to the club last week, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Stampa.
The report details how Conte wasn’t sure who wrote the letter and didn’t recognise the handwriting, and the content in the letter didn’t make him think it was anyone in particular. However, the 50-year-old Italian does believe that it was the supporter of an opposing team who is angry at the Nerazzurri’s strong start to the season.
However, the report also highlights how Conte wasn’t alarmed, despite the specific references to his daughter and his parents. The information suggests that the letter was written by someone who knows the Italian’s private life well, but that information could still be figured out online. Therefore, nobody in particular is currently a suspect.
Finally, the report touches on the work of two Carabinieri colonels, Miulli and Pantaleo, who are working on a theory that the letter was sent by an angry Inter fan, who was unhappy at the appointment of the former Bianconeri coach.
