Former Inter and Torino defender Fabio Galante discussed the upcoming league clash between the two sides in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

“You have to see how Mazzarri wants to interpret the game, but it is clear that when you are faced with such a strong team you are forced to defend more. But for sure Torino know how to be dangerous with counter attacks, so it’s not better for Inter to give them space.”

He then touched on 17-year-old Inter talent Sebastiano Esposito.

“That kid eats grass when he comes onto the pitch, he’s strong and he’s not afraid of anything. You can see that by his training with champions, putting the right head on it, he’s growing up. In fact, I’d say that he’s burning up the stadiums.”

He named his key players in the Nerazzurri squad.

“You can think of Brozovic, Barella, Lautaro or Sensi who made the difference before he got injured. But the strength of Inter is in the squad. Conte’s squad is an organised team that keeps the departments compact, always looking for victory.”

Galante discussed Conte’s usage of a three-man defence.

“It depends on how it is taught. I played 15 years in a three, even at Torino with Camolese, one of the best coaches I’ve had. With him I always knew what I had to do, and in the same way I think Conte teaches his defenders, so that with the ball between their feet they always have two or three different solutions to pass to. Inter have the three best centre backs in Serie A. Skriniar on the centre-left, De Vrij in the middle and Godin on the right.”

Finally, Galante spoke about 20-year-old Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni.

“He has excellent qualities. But you can see that Inter are working well during the week, and he’s safe on the pitch, with the boldness of a veteran.”
