The injury to Genoa striker Christian Kouame may impact Inter’s ability to sign Rossoblu striker Andrea Pinamonti, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are considering signing the 20-year-old Italian if they cannot secure the signature of unhappy Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

The Nerazzurri are keen to add more attacking depth, and would be willing to exchange 26-year-old Italian forward Matteo Politano for the Rossoblu forward.

Inter coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of Pinamonti and only accepted his sale due to financial reasons, the report continues.

Furthermore, he isn’t convinced by the performances of Politano this season, and therefore would be happy to see the player depart. The injury to Kouame means that Pinamonti will play an even more vital role for Genoa now, and so they may be less willing to let him leave Liguria in January. Inter may return for him next summer.
