Noted Italian journalist Paolo Paganini has reported that Inter’s director of sports Piero Ausilio has met with Nemanja Matic’s entourage in order to discuss a possible move to Milan in January.

Both Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Ausilio are keen to listen to coach Antonio Conte, who has been asking for squad reinforcements in the January transfer window due to the low amount of squad depth at the club. Matic, whose contract with Manchester United expires next June, is one of the players that could certainly strengthen Inter’s midfield department. Matic previously played under Conte when the pair were at Chelsea.

Paganini reported on Twitter about the meeting, saying: “Milan embraces Raiola for Ibrahimovic but there has also been talk, it seems, of Kean. But wasn’t the attack of the Rossoneri most important?! Then there’s Pogba who’s pawing and wants to go back to Juventus. They also tell me about a meeting between Ausilio and Matic.”
