Inter coach Antonio Conte still has a reduced squad, but the recovery of 31-year-old Italian full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio has given him a little more flexibility, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Conte has the option to deploy D’Ambrosio in multiple different positions, giving him options of which players to rest ahead of next week’s Champions League clash against Slavia Prague. The 31-year-old could take the place of Uruguayan midfielder Diego Godin, who Conte wants fully rested ahead of the game on Tuesday.
However, D’Ambrosio could also take the place of Antonio Candreva in the right wing-back position, the report continues, allowing Conte to rest the 32-year-old Italian. Furthermore, the 31-year-old Italian full-back will be an important option for the left wing-back position, a position normally filled by the injured Kwadwo Asamoah. Conte’s options are limited, but at least the return of D’Ambrosio has given him a little more flexibility in his options.
Probabile Inter (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan De Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Matías Vecino, Cristiano Biraghi; Lautaro Martinez, Romelu Lukaku.
