The big clubs in Italy, Juventus, Inter, Milan, Roma and Torino, are hoping that the resigning Gaetano Micciché will remain as the president of the Lega Serie A, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how Micciché resigned due to concerns about the irregularity of his election, but the big clubs listed would prefer the 69-year-old Italian to remain in the position. The clubs are against the election of a new president and the idea has started to gather more traction over the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, FIGC and their president Gabriele Gravina are working on electing a replacement for Micciché, the report continues. For now, they have appointed Mario Cicala as the temporary commissioner of the League until a new election can be held before 2nd December. Cicala will take over the role if a new president isn’t elected by the 3rd December.
