Torino coach Walter Mazzarri is focusing on Venezuelan midfielder Tomas Rincon’s recovery so he can start the 31-year-old against Inter tomorrow evening, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Rincon landed on Wednesday evening from Japan, after playing a friendly against Japan with Venezuela earlier this week. He was given a cryotherapy session yesterday morning in order to speed up his physical recovery, as Mazzarri has limited options in the midfield.
Rincon is set to start for the Granata over 27-year-old Italian midfielder Daniele Baselli, due to the players precarious physical condition, the report continues. Baselli suffered an ankle distortion in Torino’s derby against Juventus earlier this month and hasn’t appeared for the club since. Therefore, Mazzarri will deploy Rincon as he has limited options in the role.
Torino are currently 11th in the league after 12 games, suffering from a slightly disappointing start to the season.
