Inter coach Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win in the Serie A over Torino last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV.

“Very happy. We managed not to concede a goal and then to score three. From the point of view of implementation, let’s say that this has become customary.”

“In terms of not conceding, however, we’d been a bit too generous in our last games. I’m happy for the boys’ game. They immediately rose to the level of the mentality needed to play in bad weather conditions, because the pitch was rough, and the ball could stop in puddles.”

“The players deserve this satisfaction, because they are doing something beautiful, of which we must be proud.”

He discussed how he prepared for the game and accounted for the poor conditions of the pitch.

“I had seen a bit of what we were expecting. I knew that the pitch would be rough, because luckily now the weather is known beforehand. We were facing a physical team, which are very difficult to play, especially at home, so we prepared a very tough line-up, ‘tough’ in every aspect.”

“I’m happy for the good approach and for the good result. We suffered in the best ways, against a very difficult team like Torino.”

Finally, Conte spoke about the Inter squad and two players in particular, Borja Valero and Federico Dimarco.

“This is a really healthy squad, made up of guys who care about Inter. It’s a pleasure for me to go to Pinetina every day and work with them.”

“Today I am happy for both Borja and Federico Dimarco. Borja has worked in these three months, he was quiet, he didn’t complain about anything, and today he was ready, an exceptional performance, on a pitch that didn’t show off his characteristics, but he performed well.”

“Dimarco is a super positive guy, who cares about Inter. Today he deserved his debut. Now we have to continue. I have a group of guys who, beyond the difficulties that we may encounter, will give 200% regardless. This leaves me very calm.”
