Inter owned striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa may return to Milan to find a new club after Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has increased his valuation of the forward, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian striker won the Copa Libertadores for Flamengo yesterday after scoring two goals in the dying minutes of the game. The goals saw his goal tally for the season raise to 31 in 38 appearances, with Gabigol also providing ten assists in that time.

Due to his strong performance in yesterday’s final, as well as his consistent goal scoring throughout the season, Marotta is planning to take Gabigol back to Milan in order to find a new buyer for him that would pay a higher figure. Flamengo, the club Gabigol has been on loan at this season, have offered €22 million plus a percentage on a future resale for the 23-year-old forward, a figure now considered too low, the report continues.

Marotta is now expecting bids in the region of €35-40 million for Gabigol after his incredible season in Brazil, the report highlights.
