There is a chance that Inter and AC Milan’s new stadium projects could be moved to Assago, a small town south of Milan most notable for the Mediolanum Forum, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how Assago could potentially accommodate the new stadium due to its transport links to Milan and close location, however it’s an idea that neither club are particularly keen on.

This is because both sides believe that the area that would be available would be too small and wouldn’t be able to accommodate either project that was proposed to the City Council earlier last month, the report highlights. Furthermore, both clubs would prefer to remain in the San Siro area, a wish that has been regularly reiterated by representatives from both clubs.

The idea of moving the proposed projects to a different location is still an option that the clubs are considering, such as the idea of moving to the Sesto San Giovanni area of Milan.
