Inter striker Lautaro Martinez discussed the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win in the Serie A away against Torino last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV.
“The pitch was poor, we always played with a long goal kick. One player came in to meet the ball and the other attacked the depth, so we scored at the start. We played an intelligent game, in short, against a tough team. We work to bring home the three points, always.”
He touched on the importance of last night’s win.
“We knew it wouldn’t be easy to play here on a tough pitch. But we had a good game and we did a good job. We’re very happy, because tonight we got three important points in the league table.”
The 22-year-old Argentine forward discussed his opening goal and how important it is to get ahead early.
“Let’s say that I always work to give my best. Opening the scoring helps you in terms of peace of mind. We must continue to work, day after day, for the sake of Inter.”
Finally, Lautaro looked ahead to Inter’s Champions League clash against Slavia Prague on Tuesday.
“We have to be smart, prepare for the game well on a physical level and play our best to recover points. We know we’re in trouble. We have to take the three points home.”
