Inter defender Stefan De Vrij, who scored the second goal in the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win over Torino last night, discussed the game to Italian broadcaster DAZN.

“Perfect night? Except for Nicolò’s injury, it was a great night. Let’s hope it’s not serious. We did very well, managing the game well, suffering little and scoring. We have to be happy with the performance.”

He then touched on the difficulties of playing on the waterlogged pitch.

“We realised that we needed to play another kind of game, not the usual one we want to play on the pitch. You couldn’t risk giving away the ball too much and we did well.”

The 27-year-old Dutchman spoke about the moment in the Dutch league yesterday, where the games were stopped for the first minute as a sign condemning racism.

“I think we could do it here, it would be a good sign. We’ve done something with the national team, there’s been a lot of talk and we have to try to do everything we can to prevent it from happening again.”

Finally, De Vrij discussed the Nerazzurri’s fans and their support of the squad this season.

“I think they are also happy like us, now we want to continue on this.”
