Inter defender Stefan De Vrij spoke to gathered reporters in the mixed zone yesterday, after the Nerazzurri’s impressive 3-0 win in the Serie A over Torino last night, with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb reporting his words.

“It’s never easy here in Turin, against a strong team with strong players. Then it wasn’t easy on the pitch today, but we were good at doing what the game asked of us. We were good at taking advantage of chances, scoring goals and we weren’t in trouble.”

The 27-year-old Dutch defender spoke about the striking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.

“They’re very important for the team, they’re very good not only at scoring goals but also at keeping the ball in good places. They’re important for our game, you can see that the team are growing.”

He briefly touched on the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash against Slavia Prague next week.

“It’s a very important game, we are going there to win, and we believe we will.”

De Vrij discussed the importance of coach Antonio Conte to the squad.

“It’s important that we get motivated because this season we’ve often been ahead and conceded, it’s important to have a coach like that.”

Finally, De Vrij commented on his goal yesterday that put Inter 2-0 up.

“We saw that there was a lot of space near the back post, we had tried it in training and Biraghi crossed the ball very well, you just had to tap it in.”
