Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim has further reiterated his desire to keep his double winning side together past this season.

“Our intention is to keep the whole team together. We still have some things to do in this regard, but I am very confident. I think the affection that the fans have shown will greatly influence the decisions of the players,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the Brazilian Serie A trophy celebration as quoted by Flamengo news site Colunadofla.com.

The Rio de Janeiro based club remain in talks with Inter over the permanent transfer of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, who has starred for them whilst on loan. In 54 appearances across all competitions for them, he has netted a phenomenal 40 goals.

The two clubs had seemingly had an agreement over his transfer but it is now understood that Inter are demanding more money off the back of his exploits in the Copa Libertadores final.
