Sandro Mazzola has agreed with noted journalist Mario Sconcerti’s comparison between himself and current Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

“It is true, Lautaro is like me. The manager must work a lot on his mentality, I really needed what Herrera did for me. I sometimes got upset by what he said to me but my mother told me that he was saying certain things because he values me,” he remarked in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio.

He also admitted to being wrong about Romelu Lukaku, who put in arguably his best performance to date in an Inter shirt.

“I have changed my mind, at first I was not convinced by the decision to move away from Icardi. Initially it was hard  but it is clear that he has quality.”

The striking duo of Lautaro and Lukaku have combined for 22 goals between them across all competitions this season and their partnership is growing by the game.
