Former Inter striker Roberto Boninsegna is the latest to have had his say on the strike partnership between Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez at the Nerazzurri and who they remind him of.
“They remind me of myself and Roberto Bettega because they are different players but complementary to one another, I would say they are perfect,” he explained in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
“I had doubts at the beginning about Lukaku and Lautaro but I have been forced to thin kagain about them. They are a great partnership, especially because there is no selfishness, which is rare for strikers not to have.
“Letting Icardi, who always scored goals, go was a risk. Giuseppe Marotta and Antonio Conte had great courage to do what was a risky but calculated move.”
He concluded by sharing one concern about the partnership of the Belgian and Argentine.
“If Lukaku is to get hurt though there is nobody to replace him. In January, Marotta has to sign another striker for Conte.”
