Antonio Cassano has taken a look ahead to Inter’s final Champions League group stage match against Barcelona, a match in which a win will secure Inter passage into the knockout stages.

“The biggest problem for Inter is Lionel Messi. When he plays Barcelona are a complete team but without him they are different,” he remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“I believe that Valverde will rest so many players and I hope that he does it with the Argentine in particular because he is someone who wants to win and who goes crazy if he fails to score goals.

“As a former Inter player, I hope that they can progress to the next round, they have a great opportunity to do so. Although when playing in Europe, the big teams do not give up anything and do not give games away.”

He also briefly touched upon Lautaro Martinez.

“Lautaro has a lot of malice in the way he plays, he has great personality.”
