Legendary Italian manager Arrigo Sacchi has shared his views on Inter’s performance in their 3-1 win over Slavia Prague in an interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter won in Prague despite a difficult start in the group. Despite many absences, those who were present showed great spirit and fierce determination. Everyone gave 100% and played like heroes. I have to underline the formidable performances of Lukaku and Lautaro, but also of Borja Valero,” he began.

“Conte is a great manager. He revives his players, who repay him with gratitude. Antonio is not just a motivator, he lives for football and improves things game after game. He is an advocate of the “we can always do more” mentality and his team continues to grow.”

Sacchi then said one thing in particular that he would like to see Inter do better going forward.

“Inter suffered in the first 20 to 30 minutes but did not give up. There are still some things that need to be improved, first and foremost they way they press because in Europe everyone attacks you, even sides like Slavia. Antonio’s men have to be more of a block moving back and forth without letting their opponents close to their box.”

He concluded by discussing the final match against Barcelona.

“The match against Barcelona will be decisive. The more that Inter manage to keep them away from their box, the better. No one should be under any illusion that Barcelona, who have already qualified, will not be committed.”
