Inter are one of many top clubs keen on Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini, although between competition from other clubs and the Giallorossi’s wishes to retain the player, a possible deal may be far away, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how Pellegrini’s contract has a release clause of only €30 million, causing many top clubs around Europe to follow the progress of the 23-year-old Italian midfielder. Clubs including Juventus, Inter, Tottenham and Manchester United would all be prepared to make an offer for the player if it appeared that he was willing to leave the Roman club.

However, for the time being, the Giallorossi are considering offering the player a new contract in order to retain his services and potentially increase the release clause in his contract. With his contract currently set to expire in 2022, his performances this season have seen him become one of the most exciting players at the club.
