Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala spoke about the next meeting between the City Council and Inter and AC Milan today, with Italian news agency ANSA noting his words.

“The willingness to favour the teams is there, in respect of our rules. Tuesday my administrative collaborators and the councillors will meet the clubs, I will listen to what is said. Our starting position is clear. It is a situation in which it will be necessary to have the work of everyone in order to give something to the others.”

Both the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri were originally hoping to demolish the existing San Siro stadium in order to make way for one of their two proposed projects for a new stadium.

However, the City Council refused to grant the clubs permission to demolish it, causing them to look for alternative options in other areas such as Sesto San Giovanni. The clubs are hoping to reach a compromise with the City Council in order to remain in the San Siro area.
