Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi will not be brought along to today’s league clash against SPAL due to his right adductor injury, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 24-year-old Italian is still feeling discomfort from the injury and will meet with a specialist consultant soon. The player was first injured against Juventus at the start of October and has failed to make a full return since, only briefly appearing off the bench.

The injury was exacerbated by a muscle injury in training later on in October, forcing him to undergo a longer rehabilitation phase, the report continues. The Nerazzurri are hoping he will be match fit soon, especially important now due to the injury to Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella, who isn’t likely to return until after the winter break.

Sensi scored three goals and provided four assists in his first nine games of the season.
