Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has commented on Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s recent performances in an Inter shirt.

“Now that he is fine, defenders just bounce off of him,” the defender, who spent the entirety of his playing career with the Nerazzurri, said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia show Sky Calcio Club.

He proceeded to discuss Lautaro Martinez, who, like Lukaku, has been in absolutely sensational form this season and why he thinks Lautaro has done so well compared to last season.

“Lautaro needs another striker nearby him, Icardi was not the best strike partner for him.”

Lukaku and Lautaro have struck up a good partnership between themselves and have managed to score a combined 24 goals in Inter’s 19 matches across all competitions to date.

Lautaro is currently Inter’s top scorer for the season with 13 goals to his name whilst Lukaku is not far behind him having scored 11 goals himself.
