Following a meeting with the city council regarding the new stadium project and future of San Siro, AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni spoke with the gathered reporters outside of Milan’s city hall.

“There was a lot of talk about impediments, the number of tiers is irrelevant. The city council would like to maintain San Siro as a sports venue and we we will analyse things given that we have never seen two stadiums at a distance of 100 metres from the other,” he explained.

“If this idea is not feasible, the council have already agreed to take a look at other ideas that reduce the impediment. A timescale for all of this to take place? Today we only spoke about the impediments. The architect nor I can give an answer to say if this is viable or not. All I can say is that I have never seen two stadiums so close. There will certainly be another meeting with the council.”
