Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella was among the award winners at last night’s Serie A awards night as he was named in the Serie A team of the year for 2019.
“I wish to thank Cagliari for this award and Inter for believing in me, for this big step forward,” he said as he accepted the award on stage at the Megawatt Court, where the ceremony took place.
He was then asked about his condition following his recent injury that required surgery.
“I am better now and no longer on crutches. When will I be back? If my teammates keep playing like this, I will not be back [laughs]. Seriously though, I am really happy with the win against SPAL.”
The 22-year-old central midfielder joined Inter this past Summer and has made 17 appearances across all competitions. In 1160 minutes on the park, the 12 time Italian international has scored two goals and provided three assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
