Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz has confirmed that they will sign Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa on a permanent basis from Inter but before they can complete the signing some things still need to be ironed out.

“There are still some things to fix, but now there is the Club World Cup to focus on. There is not much that we can say other than that Flamengo wants to buy him and he wants to stay,” he said in an interview with Brazilian newspaper O Dia.

“His agent will be in Brazil next week so let’s just see if we can talk about it then. We will then travel to Qatar and it is likely that we will have contact after the Club World Cup. We want to sign him to a four year contract. The price we will pay for him is between €12 million and €22 million.”

He concluded: “Contact between all the parties is well established and we do not need to go Italy to close the deal but if we need to do so it will not be a problem.”
