Roberto Gagliardini will miss Inter’s matches against Roma, Barcelona and quite probably Fiorentina too according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian midfielder sustained a foot injury during this past weekend’s 2-1 home win over SPAL in Serie A and tests conducted yesterday by Inter’s medical staff showed that he has suffered tendon damage in his foot.

Gagliardini is the latest midfielder to have picked up an injury and joins Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi in the treatment room which leaves Inter manager Antonio Conte very short in the midfield department.

The report from the Milanese newspaper go on to state that Borja Valero is the most logical replacement for the former Atalanta player in the line-up.

Alternatively, Conte could opt for a change in formation. Conte could switch from a 3-5-2 to a 3-4-2-1. Lautaro Martinez would drop in behind Romelu Lukaku and either Antonio Candreva or Matteo Politano would play alongside the Argentine.
