Inter are the second most supported club in Italy according to a survey from StageUp-Ipsos, the results of which were published in today’s print edition of Milan based news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

StageUp-Ipsos, who have produced such data since 2006, conducted two surveys in recent months to determine who are the best supported football, volleyball and basketball teams in the country with the surveys taking place in June and November.

The survey, which was aimed at 14 to 64-year-old’s across Italy, simply asked the respondents, which teams they support in the sports and the survey has shown that the Nerazzurri have 3,976,000 domestic fans, the second most in the country.

Reigning Italian champions Juventus are the best supported team with over twice as many fans as the Nerazzurri with the survey saying they have 8,725,000 fans.

AC Milan are the third best supported with 3,868,000 fans, Napoli are fourth with 2,783,000 and Roma fifth with 1,895,000 fans.
