In an interview with Fox Sports, Lionel Scaloni, the manager of the Argentine national team, has tipped striker Lautaro Martinez for a bright future.
“Lautaro Martinez is the present and the future of Argentina. We are very happy with him. My idea is to always play him alongside Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi but it is clear that there are times when they are not all at 100% and this leads to having to vary my choices,” he said.
“When it comes to putting together a team with players who are not at their best physically, it can happen that the best players cannot always be included in the side.
“They are the three best we have got, we have tried them all together and they have done well but we have to wait and see how what condition they report to us in.”
Lautaro has scored 13 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions at club level this season. At national team level, he has scored nine goals in 18 caps.
