Valentino Lazaro has reflected on his career so far as part of an interview with Inter’s official match day programme for tonight’s clash with Roma.
“At the end of my career I will be able to say that I gave my best to become the player I wanted to be. Everything has come fast in my career. At 16 I made my professional debut, at 18 I scored my first goal and at 19/20 I had my first big season. It was a season where I found form and really grew as a player,” he began.
“I am not old but I already have eight professional seasons under my belt and I have learned so much from my teammates over the years. When you arrive at a big club, such as Inter, you have to be patient and I am happy with the chances that Antonio Conte has given me.”
The Austrian international was then asked about when he thinks his first Inter goal will come and about his teammates.
“My job is to assist, but obviously when I score I will be happy. We are a good group on and off the pitch. I talk a lot with Romelu Lukaku and Samir Handanovic who is always available for the younger players, such as myself, to talk to. Nicolo Barella is very nice and Antonio Candreva has a great sense of humour.”
