Diego Godin has shared his thoughts and feelings following Inter’s goalless stalemate with Roma at San Siro on Friday night.

“We tried to win, from the first to the last minute, as always. We faced a great team but we could not win. We are feeling good and are improving as a team and this is important,” he said.

“There is still a long way to go and we are still in first place. It is a good thing that we did not concede but it is unfortunate that we did not score. We have to keep working how we have been.

He then spoke on the next match against Barcelona in the Champions League.

“We must recover. We have played in many very important matches in the past month. We have to stay very focused and prepare for the match in the right way. We will have to do our best to limit Barcelona, who are a team with a lot of quality and try to win.

“We have have to push them for the whole 90 minutes at a full San Siro. On such nights you need to absorb the energy the fans have and play to satisfy them.”
