Inter and Juventus have identical market goals, with both clubs chasing the same players in the upcoming two transfer windows, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how both the Bianconeri and the Nerazzurri are looking at Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, whose lack of playing time with the Blaugrana has left him unhappy at the club. Both teams appreciate his experience and abilities, but his age plus high salary may make him less of a priority for both teams.

Furthermore, the report continues, young talents across Italy are also something both teams will fight for. With players like Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali and Atalanta owned midfielder Dejan Kulusevski both impressing dramatically in the first 14 games of the season, both teams are keen to make investments on the young players and add their qualities to their squads. Another player likely to be fought over is Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa, although he will not be cheap.

Therefore, both teams will need to come up with ways to keep their finances in order whilst also making decisive moves on the market, the report highlights. The Nerazzurri will be hoping to earn a sizable figure for Brazilian striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, as well as multiple other players on loan such as Mauro Icardi at Paris Saint Germain and Ivan Perisic at Bayern Munich. For the Bianconeri, a good starting point would be to earn some compensation for the side-lined Mario Mandzukic.
