Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi shared his thoughts and feelings on Inter’s performance in their goalless draw at home to Roma on Friday night.
“When you have a few more points over those you will be facing, it gives you a different kind of energy that enables you to think of going out and winning games. Barring a 20 minute spell in which Roma dominated the match, Inter deserved to win against them due to all the chances that they had,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia show Sky Calcio Club.
Bergomi, who spent the entirety of his playing career on the club’s books, then sang the praises of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, who has scored 13 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
“Lautaro is amongst the best performers every game because he grows and can always be dangerous even when he is well marked.”
