It is almost impossible for Inter to sign Christian Eriksen in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter are on the lookout for reinforcements for the midfield department and the Danish attacking midfielder is one such player they are considering.

The 27-year-old is out of contract with Tottenham Hotspur come the end of the season and it seems almost inevitable that he will depart for pastures new.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio recently met with executives from the north London club to discuss Eriksen but it became apparent that Spurs want too much for him given his expiring contract status.

Eriksen is not Inter’s primary objective though. Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul is believed to be the Nerazzurri’s top target for the midfield but a lot will depend on how Udinese do in the coming weeks as they are unlikely to let the Argentine go if they’re struggling.

The report from the Roman newspaper goes on to state that Inter could move for Marcos Alonso in the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri could make a loan with redemption obligation offer for the Spaniard, who has fallen out-of-favour at the London club.

Moreover, Inter have put the idea of signing Olivier Giroud on standby as they wish to see how Alexis Sanchez does upon his recovery from injury.
