There are no talks planned between Inter and the representatives of Lautaro Martinez planned for the immediate future to hold talks over a contract renewal according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form this season having scored 13 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions and this has led to tonight’s opponents Barcelona reportedly taking an interest in him.
He is currently under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season and within that contract there is a €111 million release clause.
Inter are confident that Barcelona, who they have good relations with, will not try and activate this but the report warns that Inter do need to be wary of the influence that Lionel Messi could have.
The multi-time player of the year seemingly wants his compatriot to join him at the Blaugrana as he could be the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
The Rome based newspaper go on to add that Lautaro will probably not renew his contract until around spring time.
