Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola has shared his opinion on Inter’s elimination from the Champions League at the group stage.

“Conte is a phenomenon, he can win the title in the first year he is at teams. The Champions League is a different story, you have to build the team up and Inter only has a few players with the right experience in this sense. Last night they played a second string midfield,” he told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

He was then asked about the upcoming January transfer window.

“In my opinion, Inter will make moves in the January transfer window in a bid to continue being competitive in the league.”

Ventola, who spent six years on Inter’s books, then shared his opinion on Lautaro Martinez.

“Due to Icardi’s exit, he has grown in confidence and is improving the qualities that were there for everyone to see. Now he is playing consistently, has improved physically and is a top player. Sooner or later the big clubs will come knocking on Inter’s door.”
