Legendary Italian football manager Fabio Capello has shared his views on what went wrong for Inter in their 2-1 defeat against Barcelona in the final Champions League group stage match.
“Lukaku failed to score three times when he was right in front of the goalkeeper. Inter simply missed too many chances. You cannot afford to relax in games against teams such as Barcelona,” he said in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the game.
“Matches in the Champions League need players of a certain quality like Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella. Only Lautaro Martinez had that quality in this match. He was the only one who always troubled Barcelona. Barcelona conceded so much chances but Inter did not take advantage of these golden opportunities.”
