Talks are underway between Inter and Chelsea over out-of-favour defender Marcos Alonso according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Nerazzurri club wish to sign the Spanish full back / wing back in a loan with option to buy deal. Inter are willing to pay €2 million for the loan and are willing to pay a further €18 million to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis.

Chelsea are however understood to want closer to €25 million for Alonso, who they forked out €28 million for back in the Summer of 2016. Moreover, the blues would rather Inter had an obligation to buy rather than just an option.

The report goes on to state that Alonso is open to a return to Italian football, where he previously spent three years on the books of Fiorentina. Therefore, it should not be too hard for Inter to strike a deal with him with regards to personal terms.

This season Alonso has made 13 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists.
