Inter must reach the final of the UEFA Europa League in order to match the revenue they would have pocketed had they progressed to the knockout stages of the Champions League according to a report from Calcio e Finanza.

Inter would have earned a further €12 million on top of the €40 odd million they have already got from their participation in the competition had they managed to make it through. Moreover, they would have got an increased share of the money that is pooled between the clubs.

If Inter are to reach the final of the Europa League, they would get €14 million and if they were to win the tournament they would then play the UEFA Super Cup, which would bring in a further €3.5 million.

Inter will learn their Europa League fate on Monday 16 December, when the draw for the last 32 of the competition will be drawn at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
