Antonio Candreva is trying to recover from injury in time to be at the disposal of Inter manager Antonio Conte for this weekend’s match away to Fiorentina according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Candreva sustained a back injury during the goalless draw with Roma a week ago and was forced to miss Inter’s final Champions League group stage match against Barcelona in mid-week as a result.

Should he recover, he will fight it out with Valentino Lazaro to start at right wing back but Conte could well decide to deploy him in central midfield due to the lack of options there at the moment due to the injuries of Stefano Sensi, Roberto Gagliardini and Nicolo Barella.

The report from the Turin newspaper goes on to state that Danilo D’Ambrosio will come in in place of Diego Godin despite the fact he is at risk of an automatic suspension.
