Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Fiorentina are looking to sign Matteo Politano from Inter in the upcoming January transfer window.
“With Franck Ribery’s injury, Fiorentina are becoming increasingly convinced to focus on Politano,” he said as he appeared in Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s studios earlier on today.
“In the coming days there will be a meeting between the Viola and his representatives to understand the will of the player. Politano would like to remain at the Nerazzurri, but will evaluate the proposal that comes from them.”
Politano joined Inter on loan back in the Summer of 2018 and after a decent season, Inter signed him on a permanent basis from Sassuolo this Summer.
The winger has however struggled to get in the starting eleven and has only made two starts this season. All in all, he has only been on the pitch for 299 minutes, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.
