In today’s print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport have charted some of what Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has done, a full year on from his appointment.

Marotta arrived in the days following on from Inter’s Champions League group stage elimination which came against PSV Eindhoven and was unable to change the team’s fortunes this time round as Inter also exited at the group stage.

He was given complete freedom by Inter president Steven Zhang to form a new club structure and work culture and played a huge part in Inter bringing in Antonio Conte as the club’s manager this past Summer. Conte’s arrival has made a profound impact and the team have appeared to have seriously grown under him.

Moreover, he has helped Inter to bring in some top players in Diego Godin and Romelu Lukaku among others in a bid to raise the level of the team.

He has worked well on the transfer market in general and helped the club to smash the capital gains target in the Summer by managing to sell off many young players for huge profits. He also had to deal with the complicated situations of Mauro Icardi, Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic. Player trading will continue to be massive for Inter going forward as they look to get back to the top.
