Noted Italian journalist Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Severgnini has shared his views on Antonio Conte’s first six months in charge of Inter.
“Conte’s tenure at Inter so far can be judged very positively, he has brought out the best in everyone,” he remarked in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
He also shared his views on Mauro Icardi’s departure from the club in recent months and his replacement, Lautaro Martinez, who has drawn strong links to Barcelona due to his performances this campaign.
After months of controversy Icardi was moved out on loan to Paris Saint Germain and his exit opened up space for 22-year-old Lautaro to become an ever present feature in the starting line-up.
“Icardi’s time with Inter was up. You cannot be childish on social media. Lautaro is an incredible talent and if Inter let him go, they will resign themselves to being a second-rate team.”
