Fiorentina are set to meet Inter forward Matteo Politano’s agent, Davide Lippi, today in order to discuss a possible January move for the Italian, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the Florence based club are taking advantage of the fact that the Nerazzurri are travelling to their city tomorrow for the league clash between the two sides. They have identified the need for a new forward in the January transfer window due to the serious injury to French veteran Franck Ribery, who is heading to Germany today to work on his ankle rehabilitation.
Lippi and Fiorentina already have a good relationship, the report highlights, following on from the deal for Ribery last summer.
Furthermore, considering Politano’s more excluded role this season under coach Antonio Conte, a possible deal seems likely. So far this season the 26-year-old Italian has only made 13 appearances for the Nerazzurri for a total of 299 minutes.
