In an interview with Il Posticipo, former Inter midfielder Gaby Mudingayi reminisced on his spell with the club and where he felt things went wrong for him.
“I had bad luck. I worked hard to get into a first-rate team. At the beginning I played and things were going well we were in second behind Juventus,” he said.
“Then I injured my Achilles tendon and when you hurt yourself it is difficult. When you are 20-years-old, society awaits you and pampers you because they have invested in you anyway. If it happens to you at a certain age, it becomes difficult for the club too.
“I did everything to get back in time, but Inter had made other choices by the time I did get back. After the injury, I played very little.
“The 2012/13 season was difficult. A few years before Inter had won the treble: some important players had left, some were still there but thought of leaving. After the treble, the fans wanted big players to be bought. There was so much coming and going, it was difficult.”
He then shared his confidence in the current Inter team.
“I think they can annoy Juventus until the end of the season.”
