Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system at the club, but a yellow card tomorrow against Fiorentina would see him suspended for the game against Genoa next weekend, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder hasn’t missed a single minute of the Nerazzurri’s league campaign so far this season, showing his importance to Conte. In the Champions League he played every available minute as well, except for the last 19 minutes against Slavia Prague in the first European game of the season.

However, the Nerazzurri are worried that a yellow card would see him suspended for the last league game of 2019 against Genoa, due to the fact that he’s already acquired four yellow cards in the league so far this season.

Antonio Conte can’t rest him due to the lack of other options in midfield, the report highlights. Considering the injuries to Nicolo Barella, Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini, Brozovic is even more important for Conte than before.

Despite a slight drop in form in recent games against Roma and Barcelona, potentially due to tiredness, Brozovic must be deployed against Fiorentina tomorrow as the Milanese club look to achieve another vital three points.
