A report in today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has analysed the title race between Inter and Juventus, ahead of their next meeting in March.

The report highlights how the Nerazzurri have more of an ability to focus on the league, due to their failure to qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League, whereas the Bianconeri topped their group. There will be a tougher schedule for the Turin based club in the new year, as Maurizio Sarri’s side look to progress in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri’s two games before Christmas are against Fiorentina tomorrow before facing Genoa next weekend, the report highlights. Two vital games if Inter are to remain at the top of the league table heading into 2020. Juventus, on the other hand, will be facing Udinese tomorrow and Sampdoria next week, before heading to Saudi Arabia to face off against Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana next weekend.

Furthermore, both clubs could find themselves against each other in the Coppa Italia final next may, the report continues, as they are both on opposite sides of the bracket. Whilst the Nerazzurri are sure to focus less on the Europa League than the Bianconeri will with the Champions League, the games before their next meeting in March will be difficult for both sides.

One of the biggest differences between the two squads is their depth, with the Nerazzurri having to make more important purchases in January to strengthen their squad and fill in any gaps still remaining, the report adds. Inter are sure to have all of their injured players fit in time for the next Derby d’Italia, whereas the Bianconeri will still be missing Sami Khedira and Giorgio Chiellini.
