The future of Inter owned striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa is still unclear, considering that Flamengo still haven’t met the price requested by Inter for his signature, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian striker will take part in the Club World Cup semi-finals with Flamengo next week. The club remain interested in permanently signing him from the Nerazzurri, but so far haven’t matched his wage demands of €4 million net per season.
Furthermore, Flamengo must continue their negotiations with Inter, the report highlights. The club appreciate that the rough agreement made with the Nerazzurri in the summer, €16-18 million plus 20% of a future resale, is no longer valid due to his incredible end to the season, and therefore must raise their offer if they want to secure his signature for next season.
Gabigol’s agents have been probing both the Spanish and English transfer markets, the report adds, but so far haven’t received any offers that they are ready to push further.
