Inter are facing competition from Premier League side Crystal Palace for the signature of the estranged Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the British newspaper the Mirror.
The report details how the South London side are keen to sign the 33-year-old French striker, due to a lack of strong attacking options currently at the club.
The club are predicting that talismanic forward Wilfried Zaha might be sold in the upcoming January transfer window and therefore are hoping Giroud may provide temporary cover in the attacking department.
The Nerazzurri are also looking to sign the Frenchman, the report highlights, due to a need to strengthen the club’s attacking department, following the injury of on loan forward Alexis Sanchez, as well as the unsettled status of Italian forward Matteo Politano, who may leave the Nerazzurri in January.
Giroud’s contract with the Blues expires next June, suggesting a low cost deal may be on the table.
