Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow are keen to sign Inter owned midfielder Joao Mario, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.
The report details how the Russian club met the player’s entourage recently to discuss his future, with the club’s management fully satisfied with his performances so far this season. He has made 12 appearances across all competitions for Lokomotiv Moscow, scoring one goal and providing four assists in the process.
Therefore, the club are ready to sign him, although there is a slight issue, the report highlights. In August Lokomotiv Moscow agreed a redemption fee of €18 million with the Nerazzurri, but now they are hoping for a discount for the 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder. A discount of €2-3 million, in fact.
Inter aren’t keen on giving the club a discount, the report continues, because if they earn €18 million for him, then they will record a small capital gain, rather than taking any losses. This money would then be reinvested into the squad next summer.
