Inter coach Antonio Conte spoke about the Nerazzurri’s difficult 1-1 draw against Fiorentina immediately after the final whistle in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV.

“In the last three games, where we played against Roma, Barcelona and Fiorentina, I think we’ve always given a good performance. We created a lot of situations in which we could have scored goals. We didn’t score, on the contrary, we’ve conceded goals so we’re sorry.”

“It’s a shame because I think we had a good defensive game today too. It’s a shame to concede in the 91st minute on a counterattack. But this must lead us to work even harder, to analyse as many situations as possible to try to improve. I think we need a lot of patience.”

He spoke about the Nerazzurri squad’s strong performance and hard work in the game.

“Of course. Let’s not forget that we were playing on a difficult pitch like Fiorentina’s. We deserved the win, we played like a mature team, conceding little.”

“In the last three games we’ve capitalised less than on other occasions, and we’ve conceded a few goals. You have to be patient and work hard, willingly. Let’s say that it’s also a bit of a side problem that makes it worse, and we’re sorry.”

Finally, Conte spoke about the fact that he will not be able to use Lautaro Martinez or Marcelo Brozovic in next week’s game against Genoa, due to the yellow cards the players received in last night’s game.

“I’d rather not think about it, because otherwise I get anxious. In fact, I already am. I was already anxious before, because in many situations we had to pray and hope that nothing would happen to anyone. But these situations are already known. We’ll try to do something, even though I’m struggling today. We’ll see.”
